Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient, and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter, and a refinery. About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership to a professional team of Metallurgists and Laboratory personnel to deliver outstanding results for the business. You will need to monitor and review plant performance to expected targets and coach and develop your team to guide and assist the plant operations team in operational excellence and discipline. Reporting to Manager Operations Kambalda, your accountabilities include:
- Manage site metallurgical accounting systems
- Take part in site production planning activities and develop realistic plant targets.
- Monitor and optimise process performance to deliver on the targets and quality outcomes.
- Use data from plant systems (historical production, quality, breakdown and environmental) to anticipate and mitigate risks to process efficiency (e.g. tonnage, quality etc.).
- Initiate and take part in root cause analysis to resolve underlying issues and evaluate solutions to ensure quality resolution to issues are implemented.
- Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and assess risks, make informed decisions and use BHP's risk management framework to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Prioritise work effort and resources accordingly.
About You
To be successful in this role you are extremely output focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve outstanding results. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective business partnerships.

Location
In this full permanent full-time position, you will be based in the WA Goldfields Region and work on 5/2 roster.
