We are looking for a Superintendent – Technical Services to lead the site Mine Technical Services team delivering technical services to achieve the Business Plan in a safe and effective manner. The Mining Technical Services team is accountable for delivery of mine planning, drill and blast design, geotechnical, geology, and survey functions.
What the role entails
These role’s are a great opportunity to be a lead member of the mining team that is delivering to a steady, sustainable operation. Reporting to the Manager Mine Technical Services, you will be:
- Monitoring performance against plans and executing efficient identification and mitigation of mining, geotechnical, hydrogeological and geotechnical risks to achieving the plan
- Delivering all technical aspects of mining for operational teams to achieve plan tonnage rates
- Supervising and monitoring the team members to deliver results to the plan
- Maintaining a safe work environment and compliance to the Rio Tinto Safety standards
- Engaging in hazard and critical risk identification within mining areas
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A degree in a Mining or Geoscience related field such as Mining Engineering, Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or Survey
- Significant onsite mining operations experience in technical and operational roles within large scale integrated environments
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams to deliver results at the Superintendent level
