Superintendent - Technical Services

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Superintendent to join our team at Dawson South Coal Mine on a 7/7 roster.

Dawson south is located near the town of Moura and 169km from Rockhampton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Health, Safety, and Risk:
• Champion safety by implementing effective solutions to operational challenges while maintaining cost-efficiency.
• Inspire and lead your team to always uphold the highest safety standards.

Technical/Operational:

• Head a dedicated team comprising Mining Engineers, Surveyors, and Geologists.
• Oversee the timely implementation and adherence to both weekly and monthly mine plans, ensuring compliance with established standards and industry best practices.
• Monitor the growth and performance of technical staff, emphasizing skill development and effective performance management.
• Ensure punctual reporting of precise site metrics.
• Collaborate with the commercial team to construct site budgets and projections.
• Ensure all technical obligations, including KPIs, under the contract are consistently met.
• Strategize and manage site production to align with contract specifications and volumes.
• Efficiently wrap up the Monthly Progress Claim, inclusive of any variations and day-to-day tasks.

Commercial/Financial:

• Extend both technical and commercial expertise to on-site teams, particularly the Project Manager and operational units.
• Oversee the consistent maintenance and enhancement of the production monitoring system, aiming for system uptime above 95% and data precision above 98%.
• Contribute to mine plan optimization, suggesting ways to minimize downtime due to unforeseen service interruptions, fleet choices, relocations, or inefficient haul profiles.
• Actively identify and execute strategies for workplace safety enhancement, productivity spikes, and heightened operational efficiency.
