About Olympic Dam

As one of Australia’s largest mines and most complex minerals processing operations, it’s quite unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

About the Role

We are seeking an influential leader with ideally, but not limited to, a Technology or Operational background, to join our team.  Reporting to the Manager Delivery Olympic Dam, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership to the on-site Project Execution Supervisors at Olympic Dam.

This role is accountable for overseeing safe, effective and well-planned project execution with respect to the development, delivery, commissioning, close out and operational handover of Operational and Information technology projects (including control systems, radio, CCTV, network, equipment upgrades and the associated infrastructure) via a highly skilled delivery Supervisors overseeing our Contract Partners.

Managing the Technology Delivery Execution team Olympic Dam to ensure safe, well planned and executed projects that are seamlessly handed over to our end customers is a core accountability of this role.

This role offers exceptional flexibility to be based in Adelaide (with weekly time on site) or at Olympic Dam through the week.  We can offer FIFO, DIDO or residential options to fit with your lifestyle.

In this role you will:

  • Positively shape the Technology Execution culture in alignment with the BHP Charter Values
  • Motivate, engage and coach the team towards achieving safety, inclusiveness and productivity goals
  • Provide strategic input and guidance on planning and project pipeline
  • Engage with and support Project development teams in respect to construction, risk, safety, schedule and cost development and Project framework alignment
  • Plan for and establish Delivery work methods and processes, including alignment with proven work management processes
  • Establish positive working relationships with operations and support functions
  • Ensure all Technology Delivery Projects are successfully transferred to operational customers

About You

You will have a proven track record of successful front-line leadership of teams.  The results you have achieved will demonstrate your ability to engage, lead change and influence others. Operational and Construction leadership experience is essential and you will have experience across operational technology, Information Technology Projects.

Your ability to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines will be second to none, as will your ability to adapt to change and remain calm under changing circumstances.  Strong communication and problem-solving skills are critical to this role, as will be the strong desire to motivate and lead your team.  Stakeholder engagement and strong collaboration with Production, Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance and Process Safety personnel will be required to maximise performance.
