About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Rail Network Maintenance, the Superintendent Track Maintenance plays an integral role in leading a diverse, dedicated team responsible for railway track assets and maintenance activities.
In this capacity, the successful applicant will take responsibility for delivering Rail’s strategic plan, drive technical improvement while balancing supply chain demand and ensuring their team safely and efficiently executes critical maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the safe and efficient execution of planned and unplanned maintenance activities in line with our strategy and system requirements.
- Leading teams through change and driving improved performance through coaching and capability development across the team.
- Defining and setting performance expectations within the team and then driving a strong culture of accountability.
- Collaborating with “suppliers” and “customers” to solve systemic and complex issues that underpin our maintenance strategies
- Monitoring assets in accordance with the relevant standards and trending data over time to enable accurate predictions on the life span of rail infrastructure assets.
- Lead the development and implementation of continuous improvement efforts for the Rail Infrastructure, driving sustainable outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have a background in track maintenance combined with leadership and a genuine passion for continuous improvement. You are extremely safety focused with a demonstrated track record in working with others to achieve successful business outcomes.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop others
- The skills and experience to create a culture of respect, inclusion and teamwork
- Substantial leadership and relevant industry/organisational experience
- A proven track-record in safety and risk management.
- Working knowledge of Rail Safety National Law Act & Regulations.
- Demonstrated asset management and railway maintenance experience.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and decision making capabilities
Location
Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.
The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park
