Who we’re looking for
Reporting into the Manager of Operations Support, the primary purpose of this position is to provide safe, efficient and cost-effective maintenance and operational control of Telfer’s Utilities section in accordance with legal requirements and company objectives. You’ll be providing leadership and operational direction to the Utilities work teams, ensuring resources, capacity and capability are aligned to the work plans.
This is a FIFO full time role from Perth on an 8days on 6days off roster.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the Utilities performance reporting and documentation and have the rewarding challenge to drive and monitor continuous improvement initiatives focused on value and cost reduction.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring the reliability of assets through loss accounting, failure analysis and the delivery of reliability improvement projects
- Reviewing and approving shutdown strategies in co-operation with operations, reliability and planning sections
- Driving and monitoring plant system availability and reliability
- Maintaining in good operational condition all plant, equipment and associated infrastructure in the underground section area
- Strong working knowledge of SAP, Excel and Word essential
- Ability to communicate effectively (Verbal and Written) at all levels
- Ability to run meetings with key stakeholders
To succeed in this role, you will be safety focused, self-motivated and have strong time management skills. You will have expert technical capability combined with highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally you will have been in a Superintendent or Leadership position previously and have experience in a technical and maintenance background.

- Manual drivers licence (Essential)
- Attention to detail
- Experience in a leadership role
- Trade Qualified Certificate
- Fire systems exposure/experience
- Experience in the maintenance sector
- Strong technical Mechanical or Electrical background with power management, high voltage systems and water networks.
- Cert IV qualification in Instrumentation (Favourable)
