We are looking for a Superintendent, Water and Design to deliver and implement the Water category Strategy, which is an emerging critical priority program addressing complex water management issues across the Pilbara. The role is also responsible for the management and value realisation from our Engineering Panel, which compromises 10 Master Service Agreements. This work supports Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Sustaining Capital division, whom and responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of brownfields projects.

The Superintendent, Water and Design will lead and develop a Strategy Specialist and will collaborate with the wider Procurement team(s). This is a great opportunity to make a lasting difference within a project environment and contribute to our ESG commitment.

Reporting to the Principal, Capital Projects Sustaining Capital and working in a challenging and exciting environment withing the Global Procurement team, you will demonstrate:

• Leadership skills to develop and mentor a Strategy Specialist and provide indirect leadership within the team;
• Embrace and demonstrate our people at the heart and relay race culture initiatives;
• Proficiency in developing and implementing category strategies, including a robust approach to risk management and supplier relationship management;
• Ability to articulate and live Rio Tinto’s values of Care, Courage and Curiosity;
• A curious mindset, supporting collaboration within Rio Tinto Procurement and RTIO Sustaining Capital;
• A proactive approach in seeking opportunities to leverage and align on commercial strategies across Rio Tinto Procurement;
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills to drive the ongoing improvement of sustaining capital processes and maturity; and

This role will be based in Central Park – Perth’s CBD hub. Rio Tinto Procurement provides supply chain services that deliver value to the Rio Tinto Group through the strategic sourcing of goods and services for all operations and businesses. Value is enabled through close collaboration with business unit stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of requirements, and then delivered through uniformed processes, e-technology, increased corporate social responsibility and measurable value delivery for the Rio Tinto Group.
