About the Role

The purpose of the role is to provide leadership to a team focused on the study, planning and design of water management. In this role you will coach and develop your team to deliver high performance.

Reporting to the Manager Water Planning, you will develop the strategic approach and plans for water management at an Asset and operational level. 

This position is based in Brisbane working Monday to Friday, offering flexible work arrangements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct and embed water studies, research and risk assessments to optimise resource value, inform projects and achieve sustainable water management. 
  • Develops operational water (tactical) plans and water management activities, track operational performance to manage risks and improve compliance, effectiveness and sustainability of mine operations. 
  • Develop Life of Asset and 2 year budgets by gathering, evaluating plan inputs and rolls out plans to stakeholders. 
  • Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Identify and assess risks, make risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes. 
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste. 

About You

You will be an effective leader and a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.

You will have:

  • Qualification requirements (Statutory and non): A degree in Engineering or tertiary qualifications in an associated field;
  • Demonstrated experience in Coal mining water management, site based experience looked upon favorably;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams with acumen to develop, implement and maintain safety and health, and business operating systems;
