About the role
We are looking for a number of Supervisors to lead a team of Electrical and Mechanical personnel in a safe and efficient manner.
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Supervisor with a strong background in maintenance to gain experience in the rail industry. Working a 3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 off roster and reporting to the Superintendent, you will be:
- Managing and supervising a maintenance team, including team leadership, performance management, safety performance, workflow management and task execution
- Ensuring quick, accurate fault finding and diagnosis on Locomotives and Rollingstock
- Managing quick response to disabled Rollingstock and Locomotives and managing repairs within the rail yard
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives that improve the quality of work completed at the lowest possible cost
- Building and maintaining collaborative stakeholder relationships and interfacing with other maintenance, engineering and operations teams
- Preparing reports and recommendations, and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Driving and promoting a strong safety culture and zero harm approach through safety leadership
- Using SAP and Rio Tinto workflow management principles to execute planned maintenance activities
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- Manual C Class Drivers Licence
- Mechanical/Electrical or other trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience in a similar leadership role within a maintenance environment
- Previous experience in performance management, incident investigations and safety leadership
- Proven ability in leading a safe, cost effective and high achieving team to meet operational requirements
- It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Certificate IV in Front Line Management or similar
- Previous experience in locomotive and wagon maintenance
- Exposure to a maintenance management system, such as SAP
