About the role

We are looking for an Asset Replacement Supervisor within Rail Network Maintenance to join our Track Coastal Team. The position will be responsible for the planning, execution, and day to day activities with our Asset Replacement team.

This role is a great opportunity to join a high-performance team and contribute to initiatives which drive improvements in the safe and successful delivery of maintenance execution activities. This role is being offered on 8 days on, 6 days off roster, residential or FIFO in the coastal town of Karratha.

Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, you will/be:

  • Lead a team to complete a wide variety of maintenance across the rail network
  • Conduct QA/QC and quality safety interactions, to ensure all work is executed safely, to the highest quality, and in line with business COP requirements
  • Coaching and developing contractor partners and providing felt leadership through frequent and proactive field engagement
  • Scope maintenance activities in the network
  • Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies
  • Focus on executing the weekly maintenance plans with strong attention to detail in the obstruction compliance piece
  • Monitor and measure team performance to ensure that training, safety, production and cost KPIs are adhered to and feedback is provided
  • Ensure that the budget is managed in accordance with the plan and deliver improvements through PDP and other improvement initiatives

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will preferably have:

  • Experience in Track maintenance or construction – execution or planning
  • Experience working with SAP work management and Microsoft Office Suite – a strong IS&T capability
  • Exposure to contractor management systems
  • Cert 3 in Rail Infrastructure
  • A commitment to the highest standards of work execution
  • A passion for driving improvement initiatives

Where you will be working

Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process and services our 15 mines across the Pilbara via 1,700km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7 Mile), each train is operated by a single driver and comprises up to three locomotives and 240 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.7 kilometres in length with over 40 trains operating per day. We are also applying and adapting technology to improve safety and productivity across our rail network.

Rail

We operate 200 locomotives on more than 1,700 kilometres of track in the Pilbara, transporting ore from 16 mines to four port terminals. The average return distance of these trains is about 800 kilometres with the average journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours.

Our network is the largest privately owned and operated heavy haul rail system in Australia, and as we focus on the future, our vision is to become the greatest heavy haul railway in the world.
