We are seeking a Supervisor Belts Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC) to join our Shutdowns team, supporting Maintenance Operations across the Pilbara. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to lead a team of QC technicians providing quality, reliability, and compliance of all belt maintenance and replacement activities across the Pilbara.
You will be part of a supportive and high-performing team, contributing to both personal and team development goals. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving belt performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
This position follows an 8 days on / 6 days off roster on-site, giving you more time to spend on the things that are important to you.
Reporting to the Superintendent Belts, you will:
- Leading a team of QA/QC technicians towards achieving an interdependent safety culture by utilising daily shift starts, safety interactions, human performance & critical risk management tools
- Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures
- Lead QA/QC for all belt-related activities, covering both planned maintenance activities and breakdowns.
- Oversee QA/QC for related components to ensure alignment with standards.
- QC and verification of splice quality to detect early signs of failure.
- Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
- Contribute QA/QC insights to reliability investigations and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure documentation of QA/QC methodologies, forms and leading practices to standardise belt maintenance activities
- Ensure consistent application of QA/QC standards across the belts network.
What you’ll bring
- Certificate III in Polymer Processing or similar
- Background in safety and people leadership roles
- Demonstrated capability in coaching, leading change and effective decision making
- Technical understanding of fixed plant conveyor belt maintenance operations
- Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver's Licence (Manual)
- Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor
