Our Rail Network Maintenance department at our Tom Price Rail Hub is seeking a Civils Supervisor to join the diverse and high performing team to engage, develop and improve contracting teams over time through visible leadership, to achieve and sustain outstanding results for the Civils and Earthworks portfolio in all aspects of safety, people, productivity, and cost.
It’s within this role, you will report to the Civils & Earthworks Superintendent and be responsible for the following:
- Management of the Inland Civils maintenance portfolio across multiple assets – Cuttings, Embankments, bridges, culverts, roads and other minor civil assets
- Accountable for the daily Contractor Management & Safety (CMS) field leadership of all Civils’ and road projects work to ensure both safety and quality of the job is met as per role expectations
- Reporting on vendor performance
- Mentor and coach contracting partners
- Provide solid leadership to the team
About You
To succeed in this role, the following below are required:
- Manual driver’s license
- Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach teams
- Ability to encourage and promote a safe working and inclusive culture
It would also be desirable to have or be willing to obtain the following:
- M1 & M3 Safe working – training provided when on site
- CMS Company Rep – training provided when on site
- 1 year SAP experience
- Knowledge and understanding of work management fundamentals
- HME Operator competency
- Experience in a Rail & / or Civil environment

Where you will be working
This role is being offered on a family friendly 8 days on, 6 days off roster. This role will be offered residentially at our 7 Mile operation in Dampier (with a short drive from Karratha) or FIFO from Perth to Karratha or Perth to Tom Price. We operate 200 locomotives on more than 1,700 kilometres of track in the Pilbara, transporting ore from 16 mines to four port terminals. The average return distance of these trains is about 800 kilometres with the average journey cycle, including loading and dumping, taking approximately 40 hours. Our network is the largest privately owned and operated heavy haul rail system in Australia, and as we focus on the future, our vision is to become the greatest heavy haul railway in the world.
