About the Role

Reporting to the Construction Lead, you will have the unique opportunity to be a part of a team that is focussed on the definition and management of construction and project/program construction strategies, standards and frameworks to ensure the construction process is optimised to enable safe and efficient management of construction operations.

You will play a significant role in delivering business value through leading in-field construction, ensuring superior safety, cost, schedule and quality outcomes that support Western Australian Iron Ore.

This is a site based position with flexibility to FIFO

Key accountabilities include: 

  • Primary field construction accountability to safely deliver projects in accordance with BHP Our Requirements and the Minerals Australia Projects Internal Standard.
  • Determines minimum quality requirements, executes quality management plans and reviews quality control activities to enable the achievement of quality objectives across BHP projects.  
  • Monitors HSE compliance and applies appropriate methodologies/standards to deliver effective construction projects across BHP.  
  • Manages contract execution and analysis to maximise operational and financial performance and mitigate exposure and risk.  
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.  
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.  
  • Prioritises work effort and resources accordingly.  
  • Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.  
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.

About You

You will be qualified in engineering, project management, business or a relevant discipline, or have equivalent industry experience. Experience with port & rail projects is desirable but not mandatory.
