About the role
We are looking for a Supervisor Drill & Blast to provide leadership to the Drill and Blast team and to actively promote safety awareness and safe work practices with the aim of driving consistent performance and innovation in relation to safety, cost, and production.
You will be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices, and processes, whilst providing leadership, development, and support to your team, with the aim of driving consistent performance and innovation in relation to safety, cost, and production. Reporting to the Superintendent Drill and Blast, you will:
- Ensure all Drill and Blast activities undertaken are in compliance with all relevant statutory regulations and RTIO standards and policies
- Contribute to the HSE system and increase awareness to enable an injury free and environmentally responsible workplace
- Performance management of the team including training, career development and discipline
- Identify and participate in continuous improvement projects which including cost saving and production efficiency projects
- Daily inspections of all work areas and regular on the job interactions with the team to develop a safe and efficient work culture
- Using the fortnightly mine plans to supervise and coordinate all Drill and Blast activities on site
What you’ll bring
- Proactive approach with a strong commitment in driving a safe working culture
- Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing and coaching team members
- Experience with Change management or Improvement projects within a Drill and Blast environment
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Computer literacy and proficiency in the suite of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word
- A current valid manual driver's license
- Current valid Dangerous Goods Security Card
