About the role
We are looking for Supervisors Drill & Blast, to influence and drive positive leadership to our dynamic teams of drill & blast operators, enabling them to meet safe productivity, cost, and quality requirements to achieve targets within our operations.

Opportunities exist for FIFO candidates located in Perth or any of our regional hubs including Busselton, Albany, Geraldton and Broome.
These opportunities are available on a combination of day shift and nightshift rosters which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.
Reporting to the Superintendent Drill & Blast you will:
Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team
Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
Coach, develop and performance manage a team of drill & blast operators, including training, career development and discipline
Conduct daily inspections of all work areas and regular on the job interactions with the team to develop a safe and efficient work
Utilise the fortnightly mine plans to supervise and coordinate both blasting and drilling activities on site
Ensure all mining activities undertaken are compliant with all relevant statutory regulations and business standards and policies
What you’ll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
A passion and confidence in leading, coaching and developing team members
Ability to execute work in alignment with Rio Tinto values (Care, Courage and Curiosity) and behaviours
Demonstrated capability in effective communication, feedback and collaboration, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
Technical experience within surface drill and blast operation or similar
Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor
A current and valid ‘C Class’ manual driver's licence
