  • Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Fortescue are currently seeking an experienced passionate and forward-thinking Electrical Supervisor to lead the NPI Electrical and refrigeration team based at Solomon. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver Shift Targets.
  • Ensure all necessary statutory testing, maintenance inspections and audits of the sites and related facilities are completed within the regulatory time frames. Actions arising from those audits are completed in a satisfactory manner and time frame.
  • Ensure all maintenance plans are completed and work is carried out in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Ensure sufficient stocks are maintained and resources on site to service site requirements.
  • Ensure relevant maintenance management documents and associated files are updated and copies maintained.
  • Provide advice to Superintendent and Manager Infrastructure Services on any proposed work.

Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrated safety leadership
  • Experience with contract and contractor management.
  • Experience in providing leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Trade qualified A Grade Electrician
  • Hold an Electrical Contractors license or Electrical Nominee qualification (not essential, but willing to obtain within the first year)
  • Maintenance program coordination
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills. Having the demonstrated ability to liaise and interact with individuals and groups of varying levels of authority.
  • High level of organisation skills and an ability to meet deadlines whilst managing multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and associated costs for control management and reporting functionalities.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision.
  • High level of commitment to the provision of quality services and contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with all MS Office suite of programs.
