About the roleWe are looking for a Supervisor Electrical to join our team at our Hope Downs 1 Fixed Plant Maintenance Operations to provide positive and impactful leadership. You will be responsible for actively promoting safety awareness and safe work practices, maintain site electrical compliance and ensure all electrical safety requirements at met.
You’ll be part of a friendly team, supported by your leader to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work a family and lifestyle friendly FIFO 8 days on, 6 days off roster from Perth or Busselton, which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.
Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant Maintenace you will:
• Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures • Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices • Lead, coach and develop a team of Fixed Plant Electrical personnel • Organise and manage the execution of Fixed Plant Electrical work performed • Responsible for Fixed Plant Electrical training, safety compliance, scheduling and productivity • Manage Fixed Plant Electrical activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact • Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including maintaining statutory electrical inspections and records as required by WHS • Responsible for ensuring maintenance is of a high quality, is in line with statutory legislation and re-work is not required • Develop and implement systems to ensure compliance with government acts, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines • Plan daily work and complete daily inspections of all work areas and regular on the job interactions with the team to develop a safe and efficient work culture • Use SAP to raise and approve notifications, maintain team capacities and ensure maintenance activity information is captured • Review and approve weekly scheduled maintenance plans • Support all aspects of HSEQ compliance, auditing, education and management of the HSEQ System increasing awareness to enable an injury free and environmentally responsible workplaceWhat you’ll bring• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team• Ability to execute work in alignment with Rio Tinto values (Care, Courage and Curiosity) and behaviours• A passion and confidence in leading, coaching and developing team members• A current and valid ‘C Class’ manual driver's licence• Western Australia 'A' Grade Electrical License and Electrical Engineering degree• Appointment as Statutory Electrical Supervisor under WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 with the functions as per Schedule 26 What we offer• Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress. • A work environment where safety is always the number one priority • A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive bonus • Comprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family • Attractive share ownership plan • Company provided insurance cover • Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options • Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions • Ongoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing support • Leave for all of life’s reasons (vacation/annual, paid parental, sick leave, cultural leave) • To better suit different family needs, our paid parental leave approach gives all parents the option to take 18 weeks of paid leave after a new child arrives – at a time that suits them • Exclusive employee discounts including hotel stays, banking, accommodation, cars, retail and more.
