About the Role

BHP’s US$3.6 billion South Flank is a greenfield mine and brownfield processing centre created adjacent to and within the Mining Area C operation. Located approximately 130km north-west of Newman, South Flank together with Mining Area C will become one of the largest iron ore hubs in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore. South Flank will help to maximise the volume and quality of BHP’s iron ore production, which is essential for the world’s steel.  South Flank reached a significant milestone in the delivery of first ore and is now in the process of the most aggressive ramp up in the history of WAIO doing it – safely, on time and on budget – underpinned by the hard work and ingenuity of our workforce.  Embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live and operate, South Flank is focused on high performance, flexible work arrangements, strong Indigenous participation and gender balance.  Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Maintenance, we are looking for an electrical qualified Maintenance Supervisor to be accountable for the supervision of a dynamic team to ensure you deliver equipment maintenance on schedule and driving reliable fleet performance.  In this role you will lead, coach and mentor employees, ensure a safe system of work is in place for each activity, contribute to continuous improvement, reliability and quality maintenance and develop, communicate, and execute the Mobile Equipment Maintenance work plan.  As a Schedule 26 Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations.

About You

Are you an inquisitive, team-spirited and outcome focused individual who is passionate about safety and have the ability to build great relationships within our team, than this is the next role for you!  

It is desirable but not essential that you will have experience with the operation and maintenance of heavy mining equipment; including Komatsu 930E electric drive trucks, Caterpillar water trucks and Ancillary Equipment. A strength of yours will be your ability to communicate efficiently, ensuring the development of staff through your influencing and relationship management skills. You will be a proactive, credible and influential member of the leadership team whilst building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.  

You will; •    Have an Electrical qualification at trade, diploma or degree level  •    Hold a current full "C" class manual driver’s licence •    Hold an Electrical Ticket (unrestricted)
