About the Role

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed Supervisor to manage the Electrical / Site Services andto help us set up our newest, open pit mining project!

West Musgrave will be one of the world’s largest, lowest cost, lowest emissions copper-nickel projects.

Our West Musgrave nickel-copper project is located on Ngaanyatjarra country, in the Musgrave Province of Central Western Australia, and includes the Nebo and Babel nickel-copper deposits and the Succoth copper deposit.

West Musgrave, which has a 26-year mine life, will be an owner-operator mining operation and in addition to being powered by ~80 per cent renewable energy, the Project scope includes a pathway to net zero Scope 1 emissions by 2038.

The Project will feature an Autonomous Haulage System and remote operations from day one and our workforce will be a flexible, technology enabled team supported by remote operations to improve safety outcomes and maximise opportunities for flexible working and diverse participation.

About You

Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and we need you to motivate, inspire and keep our people safe and well.

Reporting to the Manager – Camp & Site Services, your primary responsibility will be to ensure day to day direction to the Site Services team onsite, overseeing that all tasks are being carried out efficiently, safely and correctly.

As Site Service critical assets and facilities come online, your role is essential in supporting the project capability required to deliver the West Musgrave project through the Construction phases into Operations in support of BHP’s growth strategy.

Site Services encompasses 4 main infrastructure work centres.

  • Water Services, (Potable, Fire, Raw, Treated, Dust Suppression)
  • Mechanical, Refrigeration and Hydrocarbons (Pumps, Light Vehicles, Servicing, Air Conditioning, Compressed Air, Diesel, Oily Wastewater)
  • Warehousing (General, Distribution, Pack, Unloading) and
  • Electrical Infrastructure (supporting the other Site Infrastructure work centres as well as plant lighting, power generation, site buildings and statutory activities).

The equipment is a mix of production critical assets and site facilities, focused on serving the West Musgrave workforce. It will also include the Living Hub and Aerodrome from early 2024.
