Operations near and far

Our Cadia site is located in Central West New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.

Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.

Who we’re looking for

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the mine’s emergency response activities, ensuring the safety of our workers and the effective management of emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Mentor and lead the emergency response team and ensure all emergency response procedures are in place and regularly tested
  • Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans, procedures, and systems
  • Ensure all emergency response equipment and facilities are maintained and readily available
  • Manage and coordinate emergency response activities in the event of an emergency
  • Provide regular training and drill exercises for emergency response team members

You will possess a passion and drive to ensure high safety standards, be team oriented as demonstrated by your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You will be able to make critical decisions in high-pressured situations. In addition, you will also have:

  • Relevant certification in emergency response (e.g. Paramedicine / NSW Rural Fire Services, or similar) & Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment
  • Current certification in Mine Emergency Response
  • Rescue Certifications (e.g. Vertical Rope, Heavy Plant, Road Accident, Confined Space, Water, Land Search, Underground) are highly regarded
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

Desirable Licences & Certifications include:

  • MR Licence, Marine Licence, Firearms – Business AB, Security – UHL, High Risk Work
  • HAZMAT, Snake Handling, WWCC, National Police Clearance, High Security Access, Working at Heights, RFS Member, ICAM lead investigator

Please note: This is a permanent fulltime role based at our Cadia operation in NSW. You will be required to work a 7D/7X off roster.
