About the role 

We are seeking a proactive leader looking to take the next step in their Emergency Services career.  Reporting to the Manager HSEC OTS & TOP, this role is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of the Rio Tinto Emergency Services strategy as well as routine service delivery across operational areas. The role will be offered as a permanent position.

This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, independent, and suitably qualified Emergency Services professional, looking to gain experience working across multiple sites and remote locations across the Pilbara.

You’ll work on a FIFO Roster, flying out from Perth to Brockman, being on a 5/2/4/3 pattern, which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life. 

Reporting to the Manager HSEC OTS & TOP, you will:  

  • Lead a team of passionate, high performing, Emergency Services Officers and Nurses (including coordinating provision and onboarding of contract partner team members)
  • Work collaboratively as an integrated HSEC team to partner with the Resource Development leaders, team members and our contract partners
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Emergency Services Supervisor peers across RTIO sites
  • Strategic delivery and leadership of Emergency Services team across multiple operational locations based on Resource to Risk
  • Lead and support emergency services improvement initiatives (including Remote and Lone Worker response capability)
  • Ensure routine service delivery is provided to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • Ensure the operations remain in a constant state of emergency preparedness (including ESO and ERT capacity/capability, ES Equipment levels and maintenance, and business resilience and scenario testing)
  • Support emergency services assurance and governance processes and implementation of a focused corrective action plan

What you’ll bring  

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours aligned with Rio Tinto values and leadership expectations
  • Cert III Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent
  • Cert IV Pre-Hospital Care 
  • Current C Class driver's license
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Highly organised, strong computer and administrative skills (including proficient in Microsoft office suite and SAP)
  • The ability to work independently and actively participate within a collaborative team environment to deliver business objectives
