We are seeking a proactive professional looking to take the next step in their Emergency Services career. Reporting to the Superintendent Health, Safety & Emergency Services this supervisor role is pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of the Rio Tinto Emergency Services strategy as well as routine service delivery across the Greater Nammuldi operation. The role will be offered as a permanent position on a 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster ex Perth.

About the role

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead a team of passionate, high performing Emergency Services professionals
  • Ensure routine service delivery is complete to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • Ensure the operations remain in a constant state of emergency preparedness (including, but not limited to, ESO and ERT capacity & capability, ES Equipment levels and maintenance)
  • Lead and support group wide emergency services improvement initiatives
  • Work with key stakeholders (site, ES and H&S leaders) to support the standardization and simplification of systems and processes
  • Support emergency services assurance and governance processes. Implementation of a focused corrective action plan based on feedback
  • Work with contract partners to support adequate ES coverage

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: 

  • Current C Class Driver's license (mandatory), HR highly desirable
  • Cert III Mine Emergency Response or equivalent (mandatory)
  • Cert IV Pre-Hospital Care (mandatory)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills\
  • Recognised as a highly capable emergency services professional who can work collaboratively to deliver business objectives
  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours aligned with Rio Tinto values and expectations of an emerging leader
  • Demonstrated safety leadership experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite and SAP highly desirable
  • The ability to work independently and actively participate within a team environment
  • Experience in contractor management, health and safety or project management highly desirable

Where you’ll be working

Located 100km north-west of Tom Price, Greater Nammuldi Operations is part of the Greater Brockman Hub and is wholly owned and operated by Rio Tinto. This complex of open pit operations, offers a family friendly fly in fly out roster with state-of-the-art camp facilities.

The Greater Brockman Hub consist of Brockman 2, Brockman 4, Nammuldi and Silvergrass. Driving the latest technological advancements, the open-pit mines offer an avenue for opportunity and career progression.
