About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic leader who will supervise the facilities maintenance team in Site Infrastructure. This is a permanent position based residentially in Port Hedland on a lifestyle, days only roster.
This team supports all facilities, roads, building and landscaping works across the Port and Rail areas. The team works across multiple geographical locations in Port Hedland, Nelson Point, Finucane Island, Mooka, Boodarie, Flashbutt etc. Work includes planned tasks and project works to improve the “feel of the place” through building and facility refurbishments and other projects. As the supervisor, you will be expected to be an excellent communicator whose strength will be managing conflicting priorities and lead the team effectively across various work areas.
Some responsibilities include:
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Identifying opportunities and providing input in the continuous improvement of the workshop/maintenance/teams processes.
- Manage and coach work groups on quality and safe execution of both ongoing work and risk assessments.
- Coach and develop team members, ensuring there is a clear plan for the professional & technical growth of the team
- Ensure the team follow standard work management processes aligned with 1SAP.
- Contribute to supporting a continuous improvement culture that delivers results across safety, culture improvement, through-put increase and cost reduction.
- Weekly work management metrics review and forward focus planning support and feedback.
- Delivering high quality customer service across Port, Rail and other asset users.
- Manage and coach work groups on quality and continuous improvement
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Supporting the health and wellbeing and sustainable development of team members
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a focus on working collaboratively
- Committed and able to drive an inclusive and diverse culture
- Experience managing the day-to-day completion of scheduled maintenance work
- Experienced in 1SAP work management
- Commitment to our field leadership program and coach field leadership activities
- Have exceptional risk management skills
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a focus on working collaboratively and developing teams
- Ability to problem solve and react to unplanned situations
- Have an understanding of the BHP Operating System (BOS)
- Hold a current unrestricted West Australian ‘C’ class license
