About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor Fixed Plant to look after the coordination and management of fixed plant mechanical and electrical planned work, break down and periodical shutdown activities. The fixed plant equipment consists of conveying, screening, stacking, reclaim, dewatering pumps and ship loading equipment.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Supervisor with a strong background in fixed plant  maintenance to work in a fast paced environment. You will have a high accountability for timely maintenance execution to ensure the smooth running of our plant and resolve issues that have the potential to significantly affect the performance of our reliability and availability targets. Working a 7 days on, 7 off roster and reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance, you will be

  • Providing strong, visible leadership encompassing time in the field and actively demonstrating and promoting an interdependent safety culture

  • Leading by example with regards to safety and personal conduct, and in line with HSEQ standards, HR policies and “The Way We Work” at all times

  • Supervising the day-to-day activities of your team to ensure scheduled work is completed and any corrective action is completed with minimal impact on operational requirements

  • Conducting incident investigations in a timely manner and ensuring corrective actions are implemented within agreed time frames

  • Ensuring effective communication between all teams and support staff and communicating business/department priorities to the team in a timely manner

  • Constantly developing team capability through use of the performance review process and ensuring succession plans are in place and training/coaching is provided as required

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A relevant Mechanical Trade qualification

  • Demonstrated practical experience in a fixed plant maintenance role.

  • Proven previous experience in a supervisory role or personnel management experience

  • Exposure to safety systems within a large mining company

  • Working knowledge of general plant and equipment and the fundamentals of equipment maintenance

  • Strong SAP work management skills.

  • Understanding of statutory principles

  • An ability to lead and develop people through providing direction, coaching, recognising performance and leveraging their diversity of skills and experience.

  • Strong customer focus to assist in achieving site performance metrics.

It will also be beneficial if you have:A background in continuous improvement and change management programmes

Where you will be working

This position is based at our Dampier operation. Dampier Salt has three operations located at Dampier, Port Hedland and Lake MacLeod and is headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Produced through a sustainable process of solar evaporation of sea water, we reliably deliver high quality salt essential for making thousands of products used in everyday life. Gypsum is additionally mined and processed at our Lake MacLeod operations.
