About the role

We are looking for a Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor to provide clear direction and leadership to a group of multi-skilled trade’s people. You will be responsible for supervising tasks associated within Rolling Stock Maintenance’s critical plant and non-process infrastructure assets in various disciplinary areas to optimise plant and maintain asset integrity.

This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to drive and optimize operational performance in a fast-paced work environment. Working 6 days on, 6 days off roster and reporting to the Plant and Automation Superintendent, you will be:

Supervising the day-to-day activities of your maintenance team, including team and contractor partners, performance management, team safety performance, workflow management and task execution

  • Managing and supervising a maintenance team, including team leadership, performance management, safety performance, workflow management and task execution
  • Fostering the development of collaborative stakeholder relationships and interfacing with other maintenance, engineering and internal and external teams
  • Managing the engagement and performance of external contractors, and monitoring of the quality and standard of services delivered by external contractors
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to safety to achieve a workplace target of zero injuries and incidents by providing support regarding HSEQ workplace policies procedures and critical risk monitoring.
  • Identifying and driving cost savings through accurate forecasting & management of plant maintenance activities.
  • Using SAP and Rio Tinto workflow management principles to execute planned maintenance activities
  • Working closely with planners in identifying, planning and scheduling scopes of work and assisting in the organisation of tooling and parts
  • A key stakeholder in the development of tactics and strategy for all Rail fixed and critical plant assets.

 About you

 To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: 

  • A manual C Class Driver's Licence
  • A relevant Electrical or Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Strong Contractor management experience
  • Strong maintenance leadership in a fixed plant environment >minimum 7 years
  • Previous experience in performance management, incident investigations and safety leadership
  • The ability to make important decisions relatively quickly during high pressure situations
  • Shutdown experience to support the execution of planned outages.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work management knowledge and be proficient in the use of our CMMS - SAP
  • Understanding of statutory and compliance principles

It will also be beneficial if you have: 

  • Certificate IV in Front Line Management or similar
  • Grad Diploma in Maintenance Management or similar
  • Project Management experience

Where you will be working

Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process and services our 15 mines across the Pilbara via 1,700km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7 Mile), each train is operated by a single driver and comprises up to three locomotives and 240 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.7 kilometres in length with over 40 trains operating per day. We are also applying and adapting technology to improve safety and productivity across our rail network.
