The Role

We are lookingfor a Supervisor to join us in the George Fisher Mine Maintenance Team as Supervisor Fixed Plant Operations.  Reporting into the Superintendent Fixed Assets, Haulage & Operations, you will be responsible to provide visible supervision and ensure the safety, performance and improvement of the team to optimally maintain GFM Surface Crushing Assets. 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Compliance to the weekly schedule to achieve established KPIs and compliance with forecast costs
  • Communicating accurate and relevant information and insight to line management on daily performance and against the weekly schedule
  • Safety leadership across GFM and for the health and safety of the Hoisting and Shaft Assets team including:
  • Developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency
  • Responsible for the management of the assigned cost Centre and capital projects
  • Responsible for ensuring shift handover is successfully managed
  • Responsible for providing support to the reliability team on asset planning on equipment to improve reliability
  • Responsible for developing a positive team culture in line with Glencore values including mentoring and coaching to build employee role competency
  • Responsible for providing visible leadership and ensuring compliance to GFM policies, standards and procedures for the Fixed Underground Assets team
  • Responsible for the optimisation of assigned resources and continuous improvement to minimise cost and waste
  • Responsible for budget development and adherence to budget for the Fixed Underground Assets team

The successful applicants will have:

  • Degree qualified Engineering or Trade Qualification.
  • Understanding of asset maintenance systems and processes
  • SAP S4 Han experience.
  • 10+ years Maintenance infrastructure experience(Hoisting systems desirable)
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods
  • Understanding of underground mining systems and processes and their interrelationships
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Risk Management, Safety systems and legislative requirements for underground mining
  • Knowledge of financial management and analytics
  • At least 5 years’ Experience in leading people
