About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced Rail Execution Supervisor to join our team in Port Hedland. Reporting to the Superintendent Flashbutt Execution, you will be responsible for leading a team of BHP employees and contractors.  The main focus of this role is to enable the safe, quality execution of the Mobile Flashbutt Welding Teams day-to-day schedule of planned and break in activities to meet schedules and productivity targets.  The supervisor plays a critical role in developing and sustaining a strong safety based and collaborative culture within the team to deliver on our customer requirements.  

If you prefer the residential Port Hedland option, you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies. Port Hedland enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities. The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. Key duties include: * Working with the Maintenance Coordinators to manage the daily operations of the frontline execution teams, to enable the teams to safely execute work to the right standard in a timely manner * Liaise with planning, supply chain scheduling, and other work groups to prioritise the mobile teams planned work bank and reactive works within compliance to the Code of Practice * Mentor and coach Coordinators and frontline workgroups in-field concerning risk management and verification of tasks * Liaise with embedded contractor management teams and assist in investigations, incident management and performance reviews * Promote and foster a positive and inclusive team culture

About the Site

Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia.  

Flexible working options can be considered for this position - either FIFO or residential on an 8/6 roster.  If you prefer FIFO, the outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, TV lounge and games rooms.

Additionally you will have access to the state of the art aquatic and sporting facilities in the town of Port Hedland. All rooms at the villages have their own en-suite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.

About You

As our successful candidate you will possess the following:

* Demonstrating and instilling an overriding commitment to health, safety & environment * Demonstrated previous leadership experience in a rail execution environment * Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure * Strong computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft applications and 1SAP * Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills * Excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills
