Operations near and far
Our Cadia site is located in the Central West of New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.
Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.
Who we’re looking for
We are currently seeking a Supervisor – Lifting Operations to join the Maintenance department at our Cadia mine. Reporting to the Cranes & Scaffolding Specialist, you will provide full support to the maintenance and outage teams for all lifting operations on site. Your contribution will be crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of designated outages and improvement projects.
A few key deliverables include, but not limited to:
- Provide the operational and outage team with support with all road closures including safety bulletins for all Lifting related blockages.
- Ensure all cranes, crane maintenance and labour are sourced for all outage schedules.
- Working with weekly planners to ensure all cranes, crane maintenance and labour are sourced according to the schedule utilising and planning Newcrest assets and labour first before outsourcing.
- Managing processes to embed a continuous improvement culture throughout CVO
- Supervise and manage a core crew of four employees and up to 30 contractors.
To be considered, applicants will ideally need the following skills:
- NSW Electrical Supervisor licence (essential)
- Mechanical crane experience (preferred)
- HRWL class CB, DG, WP (preferred)
- Mining experience - in fixed plant or crane driving
- Leadership ability with demonstrated supervisory experience
- High level computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, SAP)
- Able to work under pressure and deliver against deadlines
- Strong analytical ability
- Behaviour consistent with Newcrest values
You will possess a passion and drive to ensure high safety standards, be team oriented, as demonstrated by your excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Please note: This is a permanent fulltime role based in Orange, NSW. You will be required to work a 5D/2X roster.
