An opportunity has become available for a motivated, safety conscious Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Mechanical maintainers and Lube Operators completing planned work on fixed plant assets at Cape Lambert Port.
Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
Leading from the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility and stakeholder engagement. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep our people safe as we work.

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance and working in a challenging and exciting environment within our Port operations, you will:
About the role
- Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team
- Lead multi discipline trade team consisting of Mechanical Fitters, Boilermakers and Lube Operators with the primary role of completing scheduled work across our fixed plant assets at CLB.
- Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies
- Drive effective cost management initiatives by identifying & implementing cost-saving opportunities
- Participate in the preparation of accurate weekly reports and assigning tasks to team members
- Managing the day-to-day operations through SAP
- Championing continuous improvement by identifying and implementing changes to optimise work practices and provide technical solutions to improve plant performance
What you’ll bring
- Proactive approach with a strong commitment in driving a safe working culture
- Leadership experience and confident in leading, developing and coaching team members
- Experience in Mechanical fixed plant maintenance
- Demonstrated ability in meeting targets and bringing the team on a journey of continuous development
- Mechanical Trade or Engineering qualification
- Competent understanding of fixed plant capability and licence to operate mindset
- A current Australian driver's license

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
