We are looking for a passionate and values-driven Supervisor – Maintenance to lead a technical team and contracting workforce to ensure safety, people, and production targets are met.

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance you will be working either an FIFO or residential roster -you will be:

• Providing visible leadership and driving a positive safety culture and respectful behaviours within the team
• Ensuring maintenance, shutdown, and breakdown activities are carried out on the WWNP and RDA assets safely and efficiently,
• Ensuring appropriate supervision is present for all contracting partners under your control while performing their work here on-site as per the contract conditions.
• Being the first point of contact for all contract daily maintenance activities/clarifications from maintainers to ensure transparency, clarity, and correct information is sourced maintained, and upheld.
• Responsible for the execution of the maintenance plan as per the schedule
• Collaborating effectively and sharing learnings with other Supervisor peers to ensure alignment on communication, culture, and productivity.

What you’ll bring

• Relevant qualifications and associated technical background in maintenance activities within heavy industry/ Mining.
• Exposure to safety systems within a large company or organisation.
• Experience with developing and implementing safety procedures.
• SAP experience for maintenance activities
• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• A background in mining operations to effectively be able to make safe and efficient decisions.
• Experience leading teams in a regulated environment
• A continuous improvement mindset and ability to think outside of the box with regards to maintenance challenges.
• Sound computer literacy and ability to use Office Programs including Word and Excel.

Where you will be working

Our Gove Operations have been supplying the global aluminium industry with world-class bauxite for more than 40 years. Located in Australia’s Northern Territory, each year the operation produces approximately 12 million tonnes of bauxite.

With a workforce of 460 people, daily activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, shutdown planning and execution, export operations, cultural heritage management, and closure activities following our decision to close the site’s alumina refinery and associated Residue Disposal Area in 2017.

We expect our bauxite mining operations on the Gove Peninsula will cease in 2030 and we are undertaking significant work to support closure of the operation. We also recognise our operations take place on Indigenous-owned land, and we are committed to working together to achieve a positive future for Nhulunbuy and the Gove Peninsula post-mining.
