Supervisor - Maintenance

Due to the continuous growth and strengthening of our position Australia wide, Macmahon has an opportunity for dynamic leader in the role of Maintenance Supervisor to support our operations on a 7:7 roster at our DAWSON SOUTH site.  This role is to provide effective supervision to the plant maintenance crews to deliver the requirements in terms of safety, leadership, plant service delivery and cost.
 
Key accountabilities of this role include the following:
•    Supervise maintenance personnel and subcontractors
•    Ensure that all servicing and repairs are carried out to a high standard and in a timely manner
•    Ensuring that plant and equipment is serviceable and available to meet the agreed production plant
•    Co-ordinate all plant maintenance, servicing and repair activities to optimise the operation of the project fleet
•    Support the Maintenance Superintendent in analysing plant delays, equipment failures and safety issues by investigation, problem solving and the formulation of maintenance plans
•    Monitor maintenance activities, identifying nonconformance
•    Maintain job planning boards and regularly monitor performance
•    Liaise with breakdown coordinator to facilitate daily
•    damage and breakdown/downtime reports
•    Ensure plant and equipment is maintained and operated in a manner to prevent damage and abuse
•    Ensure that the Coal Mining Act and Regulations are adhered to at all times
•    Ensuring the maintenance operations are managed in accordance with the Queensland Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 and the Queensland Safety and Health Regulation 2001
•    Lead motivate and mentor subordinates to demand high standards of performance in all areas to achieve agreed targets

The successful candidate will possess the following:

•    Relevant trade qualifications
•    Extensive knowledge of a range of heavy earthmoving equipment and ancillary plant.
•    Detailed knowledge of mining and safety regulations
•    Proven experience within a Supervisory role
•    Coal Mining experience is highly desirable
•    Current First Aid Certificate
•    Standard 11 induction
•    Coal Board Medical
•    Drug & Alcohol Screen
•    Drivers Licence (manual)

Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland near the town of Moura; it is approximately one hour drive from Biloela and two hours from Rockhampton and Gladstone and is one of Australia’s longest established coal mines.
