Illawarra Metallurgical Coal (IMC) produces premium quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Permanent position based at the Appin mine which is, near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW, and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.
As the Maintenance Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading crews in area of accountability, to achieve performance targets in a safe and efficient manner through the supervision and mentoring of workers.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Supervise a team of trades and be accountable for the safe execution of work management plans
- Establish a safety orientated, high performance culture through effective mentoring & coaching; enhanced technical knowledge & promoting continuous professional development of team members
- Ensure compliance to the work management processes and implement, maintain, and monitor safety critical risk controls
- Build and communicate work schedules reflecting work management activities; ensure they’re resourced and aligned to 12-week planning window
ABOUT YOU
- Experience working in an underground coal mine - preferred
- Prior experience in a Supervisory role effectively managing dispersed teams
- Experience with SAP - highly desirable
- Self-reliant contributor with proven proficiency in the Maintenance / Work management planning area
Qualifications for this position are:
- Trade Certificate or Tertiary Qualifications in a mechanical or electrical discipline
- C Class Drivers Licence
