About the Role
We have an exciting new opportunity for experienced Drill Supervisors at Mt Keith Mine, where we have a state of the art drill fleet. Our team focus is on delivering Industry leading MTBF and availability with a focus of Zero Harm.
Be at the forefront of Epiroc design research and development with Drill Deck Guard systems and RCS 5. In addition, if that’s not enough, you get to work with a supportive team and highly experienced awesome leaders.
As a Maintenance Supervisor your main responsibility will be to lead a team to safely deliver at their optimal performance. You will also be a champion for business improvement, and you will be able to help coach, empower and support your team on this journey.
This role will be based at Nickel West Mt Keith in the Drill Team. The role will entail:
- Coordinating drill maintenance and being the interface of the MEM to Production teams and enabling the team to achieve our goal of delivering Industry leading MTBF and availability with a focus of Zero Harm.
- Leading and providing training to BHP personnel and contracting parties with a span of control no greater than 15 personnel in safety systems and procedures, work management through SAP and embed BHP Lean Management systems.
- Working with MECoE teams to review and optimise weekly maintenance plans and Shutdowns.
- Managing BAU and Shutdown work on Drills with a focus on Safety, MTBF, Availability and MTTR whilst managing budget and identifying and eliminating waste.
- Identifying improvement opportunities within the Mt Keith Mobile Maintenance Team and utilising systems in place to help increase the efficiency of the team.
Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance, you will also:
- Foster a positive & productive working relationship and culture between team members and other departments;
- Ensure HSEC standards, hazard identification and management are applied by departmental personnel;
- Continue to identify opportunities to improve the performance of people, processes and systems;
- Improve fleet performance through quality maintenance practices;
- Build cross functional relationships with other areas to support the delivery of maintenance;
- Coach, review and develop front line teams to ensure their skills are optimised to their full potential.

About You
You will have a desire to shape culture, lead a team and improve business processes. Your background in a similar type of position or environment will see you well placed with the required capability to step into this opportunity. Your ability to communicate is of the upmost importance as well as your relationships skills. It is essential that you demonstrate impeccable safety behaviours and being safety focused is part of your everyday. In addition, you will:
- Have sound business acumen;
- Have an understanding of SAP or other Enterprise Management Systems.
- Have a trade or engineering qualification with a Drills background
