Location

This opportunity is being offered on an residential basis in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW. BHP’s Mt Arthur Coal is the largest individual coal production site in the region. Located less than 5 kilometres from Muswellbrook, NSW we produce high quality, clean energy coal for international and domestic customers. About the Role

As a Supervisor at BHP, we will provide you an environment where health and wellbeing are seen as a pre-requisite for safety and productivity. You will have access to training and professional development tools, which will support you in your role. You will be empowered by your Superintendent and encouraged to ensure that your maintenance team are connected to their strategy and plan. Working on a rotating seven day / night roster, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated high performing team who complete routine service and repair activities on a range of earth moving equipment. You will also be involved in leading or contributing towards operational continuous improvement outcomes.     Overseeing maintenance activities related to our fleet will provide you with rewarding challenges and a varied scope.  Supporting, coaching and mentoring a team of high performing Technicians, you will be responsible for:   •    Promoting a high safety culture by leading by example and by enabling your team •    Contributing to the planning process, and executing the scheduled maintenance plan by managing break-in repair work •    Managing work management activities via the 1SAP Maintenance Management systems •    Creating a collaborative and interactive team environment •    Embedding the work shop 5S and Lean methodology •    Optimising the utilisation of resources throughout the schedule week  •    Identifying and providing input in the continuous improvement of our Maintenance processes  •    Liaising with Contracting Partners for various activities such as mobilisation, task execution, close out and demobilisation •    Supporting the development goals of your team •    Collaborating work across various stakeholders to ensure overburden activities are performed in line with the mine plan.   The size and magnitude of our business not only provides significant opportunity for professional development, but also attractive salary packages with performance based bonuses and unique BHP employee share program.

About You

Our successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification or trade qualification with experience in a Leading a team. Your people and communication skills are of the upmost importance as well as your relationship skills when liaising, negotiating and influencing a range of internal and external stakeholders. Previous experience with 1SAP will be beneficial.   The nature of the role requires you to be a people leader, a forward thinker and focussed on process discipline. A background in leading high performing teams with a strong safety focus will be critical to the success of this position.
