About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual to take on the role of OS Conveyor Specialist based within our Operations Services Maintenance team.

Reporting directly to the OS Inland Mine Conveyor Superintendent Maintenance, this role is responsible for the safety, standardisation and productivity related conveyor projects.

Your duties will include:  

  • Foster positive & productive working relationships and team culture
  • Set and maintain clear safety standards within the leadership team
  • Lead safety investigations, risk assessments and root cause analysis
  • Build capability through coaching, mentoring and provide technical advice and support OS Conveyor team members
  • Lead and support continuous improvement opportunities
  • Experience with business improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing, and use of data management and analysis tools would be highly beneficial.
  • Work in close contact with the Site Reliability team in developing solutions to Conveyor related concerns.
  • Lead Practical Problem-Solving discussions and drive actions alongside the Conveyor team.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results through using your influence
  • The ability to successfully lead and work within a team environment and build effective working relationships
  • Project Management and/or engineering experience is preferred, not essential
  • Trade qualification and/or belt splicing experience is highly desirable, not essential
  • Effectively identifying ways to eliminate hazards, waste and variability
  • Experience or a fast learner with work management software tools (e.g. 1SAP)
  • Experience in conveyor maintenance or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in detailed scoping and maintenance planning for multi-disciplined workgroups operating in a Fixed Plant Maintenance environment is preferred but not essential
  • Experience gained in a shutdown environment would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Minimum of C class manual drivers’ licence.
