About the role:

We are looking for safety focused Supervisor to lead one of the Shift Maintenance teams at Cape Lambert. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe execution of maintenance of the Cape Lambert Plant.

You’ll be part of a supportive team, supported by your leaders to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team. You’ll work on an 5/5/4 rotating roster residing in Wickham, which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life. 

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will:

  • Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices, and processes
  • Provide safety and technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to your team, understanding their strengths in work to ensure that safety is first and that the correct work is completed
  • Complete daily inspections of all work areas and regular on the job interactions with the team to develop a safe and efficient work culture
  • Allocate and coordinate planned maintenance activities using the Rio Tinto workflow management principles
  • Prioritise and manage breakdowns in coordination with operations & maintenance stakeholders
  • Driving continuous improvement projects circulating around cost saving, productivity and safety

What you’ll bring:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Leadership experience and a proven track record of success with leading, developing, and coaching team members
  • WHS Statutory Supervisor Qualification (working towards or held)
  • Relevant experience within Mining Fixed Plant Maintenance
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in the suite of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • High level of competency in SAP, work management and RTIO systems
  • Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset
  • A current Australian manual (C Class) driver's license
  • Hold a current MSIC or working towards

Where you’ll be working

This role is being pn a 5/5/4 rotating roster residing in Wickham with a short drive to our Cape Lambert operations. Housing for this role will be considered and offered. Our integrated operations, which include port facilities, ensure we can supply the right quality product to our customers, when they need it. We blend our products at our own ports, which allows us to produce a reliable and consistent product. And because we have dedicated shipping operations, we are able to better control the delivery of product to our customers.

We operate 4 independent shipping terminals at 2 locations, Cape Lambert and Dampier, managed as a single port system.

Cape Lambert has two terminals, Cape Lambert A and B, with approximately 4 ships loaded per day.
