We are looking for a Supervisor Mobile Equipment Maintenance – Shutdowns to lead, mentor, coach and develop a team of maintenance personnel within our Mobile Equipment Maintenance group at West Angelas.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is seeking a rewarding frontline leadership role, where you will be working with a great team to maintain a wide range of mobile equipment.

Reporting to the Superintendent MEM and working in an exciting environment within the Mobile Equipment Maintenance department, you will:

  • Provide safety and technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to your team of trade and non-trade personnel, understanding their strengths to ensure that safety is first and that the correct work is completed
  • Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices, and processes
  • Act as the point of contact, providing supervision for all contractor partner teams
  • Complete daily inspections of all work areas and regular on the job interactions with the team to develop a safe and efficient work culture
  • Allocate and coordinate planned maintenance activities using the Rio Tinto workflow management principles
  • Drive continuous improvement projects which include cost saving and production efficiency projects

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing, and coaching team members
  • Relevant trade qualification and/or previous experience with Mobile Equipment Maintenance
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in the suite of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Working knowledge of SAP system for maintenance is desirable
  • A current Australian driver's license

Where you’ll be working

Located 110km west of Newman, West Angelas operates on a fly in fly out roster from Perth, Broome, and Busselton. 

West Angelas is a pioneer in autonomous technologies – we were the first site to trial autonomous haul trucks and incorporate autonomous drilling into our operations in 2008, and we continue to have one of the largest mining fleets in the Pilbara. 

Our high grade, low phosphorous Marra Mamba orebody is an integral part of the Pilbara Blend, contributing both lump and fines products on around four trains each day. At the West Angelas hub there are state-of-the-art power generation and refueling facilities. These facilities supply power and diesel fuel to the East Pilbara mine sites. 

The future is bright at West Angelas with ongoing growth projects at Deposits C and D, as well as additional deposits under study providing enormous opportunities for personal development and career growth.
