Mine Control Supervisor
Work Location: Iron Bridge. Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8D/6R/7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth
As Mine Control Supervisor you will be responsible and accountable for the mine and drill controllers' interaction with mine site operations in supporting the decision-making process of the Fleet Management System and cost reduction initiatives in line with site KPI’s. You will also provide leadership and direction to the Mine Controllers and Drill Controllers to ensure that the business and mine plan objectives are met and consistently achieved, in line with the HSE policies.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Day to day supervision and coordination of all Mine and Drill Control personnel in order to minimise disruption to the site, whilst maximising productivity, efficiency and safety
- Manage and monitor the training of the team, ensuring training plans are implemented appropriately and in a timely manner
- Provide consistent instructions in mining procedures/equipment and the operation of the fleet management system
- Provide a communication link between production, maintenance, planning, OPF and the operation of employees to minimise production and maintenance delays
- Ensure compliance to safety standards and procedures at all times
Qualifications and skills required:
- Previous mine control experience, working with fleet management systems
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operations in an open cut mining environment
- Ability to make effective, intuitive decisions under pressure
- Knowledge of mine workplace safety requirements and procedures
- Strong computer literacy skills
- Excellent organisational skills and strong written and verbal communication skills
