Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Perth HIVE.  Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Lead the team at the centre of Fortescue’s autonomous mining operations.

As the Christmas Creek Mine Control Supervisor, you’ll provide operational leadership from the HIVE, connecting our remote operations with the people, systems and technology required to safely and efficiently deliver the mine plan.

Reporting to the Chichester Mine Control Superintendent, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary Integrated Control team responsible for managing fleet performance, system utilisation and operational decision-making across our mining operations. Combining strong people leadership with advanced MineStar and fleet management expertise, you’ll work closely with site operations, maintenance, technical services and AHS teams to optimise performance, respond to changing operational priorities and continuously improve the way our autonomous fleets are managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Integrated Control team, providing clear direction, coaching and feedback to drive safety, engagement and operational performance.
• Oversee the safe and efficient operation of accountable mine control systems, ensuring fleet configuration and utilisation support daily and weekly mine plan requirements.
• Optimise MineStar and autonomous fleet management processes to maximise safety, productivity, fleet utilisation and operational efficiency.
• Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of system inputs and outputs, ensuring reliable operational information and quality performance reporting.
• Partner with site mining, maintenance, AHS, technical services and other stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and continuously improve fleet performance.
• Maintain strong compliance with safety, operational and regulatory requirements while fostering a high-performing culture aligned with Fortescue’s values.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience using Fleet Management Systems such as MineStar or equivalent at an advanced level, with autonomous mining systems experience highly regarded.
• Strong proficiency in Caterpillar MineStar Command and a sound understanding of production strategies within large-scale mining operations.
• Demonstrated experience successfully leading and developing operational teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities while balancing safety, people and production outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate across operational and technical teams.
• Strong commitment to safety, operational discipline and continuous improvement, with the ability to lead by example and positively influence team culture.
