About the Role

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Ventilation, this role will involve being an active team member and providing support to the requirements of the work team, by adhering to operating requirements and striving for the achievement of individual, team and site objectives as directed.

As a Supervisor you will be responsible for managing a crew on a shift basis focusing on safe, sustainable execution in line with BHP’s Code of Conduct & Charter Values. Key focus will be review and endorse Ventilation plans, Oversee/assist in site/network ventilation measurements, alignment of resources considering schedule intensity and department capability. Additionally working closely with Execution and Maintenance teams to ensure the Mine delivers on its plan.

This role is offered on a 7/7 days & nights roster, FIFO ex Adelaide, DIDO or Residential only.

About You

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

  • Previous exposure and experience in an underground mining environment is advantageous.
  • Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring employees to deliver on plan and building a competent and engaged team.
  • Solid background in an underground mining or similar environment
  • Broad understanding of the mining and processing industry
  • Proven ability to influence and mentor others in HSEC principles and behaviours.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to engage and build relationships across multiple layers of the organisation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite and SAP.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities & uses BOS practices to implement improvements.
  • Qualifications that are highly regarded are a Certificate III in Underground Metalliferous Mining and/or a Certificate IV in Frontline Management
