About the Role

Our Newman Operations are located approximately 5 to 10kms of Newman, Western Australia which makes it a short trip to / from work! Our FIFO villages, flats & residential housing options are all located in the centre of the Newman Township and we actively encourage our team members to join the local community and utilise local shopping centres, restaurants and sporting facilities such as the swimming pool and gyms. We are seeking both a Residential and a FIFO Mining Production Supervisor to join our inclusive and high performing Production team to work in a collaborative environment. As a Supervisor, you will have strong leadership skills and the ability to positively influence our safety culture. Your ability to lead by example, be proactive and prioritise Field Leadership activities will be critical to your success. In addition, you will play a key role through:

  • Think Big and provide inputs to shape your work environment;

  • Mentor and develop the daily interactions of the production team;

  • Positively influence business decisions through your clear decision making skills;

  • Challenge daily operations and performance;

  • Maximise compliance within the operational plan;

  • Align duties across the production team to ensure development targets are achieved.

About You

We have a strong focus on finding individuals with the right values, leadership capability, and communication skills.  Your interpersonal skills will foster collaborative working relationships in addition to a demonstrated ability to consolidate and analyse information, you will have the skills and knowledge to provide critical thinking and a solution-focused attitude.

You will have access to technology that will enable you to work flexibly, which is key to BHP’s success in addressing the requirements of a diverse workforce. 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • 2 years' mining experience required;

  • Proven commitment to Safety;

  • Resource industry and site-based experience;

  • Experience in open pit operations;

  • Strong communication skills and a track record of achieving results;

  • The ability to successfully lead and work within a team environment;

  • Minimum C Class unrestricted licence essential.
