Our Cadia operation is now recruiting for the position of SUPERVISOR – MOBILE FLEET – CADIA EAST DEVELOPMENT

Cadia Valley Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by wineries, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who we’re looking for  

Reporting to the Superintendent - Mobile Maintenance, the Supervisor Mobile Fleet Maintenance will develop the fleet maintenance team to effectively and safely maintain the Cadia East Development Fleet in all facets of maintenance and within budget guidelines.

This will include building, training, and managing an effective team. Working closely with the development mining supervisor to meet planned targets and work in conjunction with the Maintenance Business Process system and process.

Key responsibilities:

  • Actively promote a harmonious team environment and ensure all team members have an accurate understanding of what is required of them in their role.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and optimisation of plant performance and the maintenance function
  • Lead by example and set the standard for operational discipline
  • Contribute to building strong organisational health within the Fleet Maintenance department (i.e. focus on personal motivation, work environment & accountability).
  • Work with all personnel within the team to further enhance and develop yours and their skills base.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of fundamental maintenance techniques, processes and procedures to manage Cadia Valley Mobile Fleet.
  • Promote and support the Newmont safety culture, by working to the team’s behaviours and values in every aspect of your work.

Through excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will support your crew by coaching, mentoring, and guiding them, work seamlessly with various stakeholders to achieve the required safety, operational and commercial outcomes. It is imperative that the selected candidate has a strong people and safety focus.

You will also possess the following: 

  • Experience in underground mobile maintenance with demonstrated prior experience as a leader of people - highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of, and compliance with statutory duties in accordance with the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
  • Experience in supervising teams, fostering high-performance with a growth mindset to continuously improve.
  • Computer literacy, ideally with SAP and Microsoft Office suite.
