Operations Supervisor NPI

Work Location: Eliwana

  • Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth

Fortescue is seeking a passionate leader to join the Infrastructure Services team at Eliwana. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver Shift Targets.
  • Ensure that the Contractors within your scope of work meet the contractual agreements in place including KPI’s set regarding, quality levels and safety requirements and other services provided by them are completed and maintained in accordance with the contract, FMG requirements and any legislative regulations and requirements.
  • Ensure all necessary maintenance inspections and audits of the Sites and related facilities are completed within the regulatory time frames. Actions arising from those audits are completed in a satisfactory manner and time frame.
  • Ensure all maintenance plans are completed and work is carried out in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Ensure sufficient stocks are maintained and resources on site to service site requirements.
  • Ensure relevant Maintenance management documents and associated files are updated and copies maintained.
  • Provide advice to Superintendent and Manager Infrastructure Services on any proposed works required at our sites (particularly major works) and assume the role of the Works Safety Officer during major maintenance work completion.
  • Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis - i.e., Ensure that the safety risks of maintenance activities not visible to the line have been identified e.g., risks related to new equipment or procedures in work area.
  • Provide visible safety leadership (lead by example), modelling positive safety behaviours to staff. Undertake incident reporting and investigation as required by corporate policies.

Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrated safety leadership
  • Experience with Contract and Contractor Management.
  • Experience in providing leadership and direction to an onsite contract team.
  • Trade qualified or minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Maintenance program coordination
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills. Having the demonstrated ability to liaise and interact with individuals and groups of varying levels of authority.
  • High level of organisation skills and an ability to meet deadlines whilst managing multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and associated costs systems for control management and reporting functionalities.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision.
  • High level of commitment to the provision of quality services and contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with all MS Office suite of programs.
