About the roleFinding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.We are looking for a Supervisor Operations for Dampier Ports to supervise a skilled Operations team to deliver fixed plant operations at Dampier Ports – East Intercourse Island. You will be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team. This role is a great opportunity to bring your knowledge and expertise to a dynamic site and further your career aspirations.Reporting to the Superintendent, your role will require you to:•    Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures •    Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations •    Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices •    Collaborate closely with other functions and stakeholders in the performance of duties •    Lead, coach and develop a team of Fixed Plant Operations personnel •    Organise and manage the execution of Fixed Plant Operations work performed •    Responsible for Fixed Plant Operations training, safety compliance, scheduling and productivity •    Manage Fixed Plant Operations activities to maximise productivity while minimising cost and environmental impact •    Define staffing and development needs of Fixed Plant Operations •    Ensure compliance to relative legislation, including statutory obligations •    Manage special projects in a timely, effective and efficient manner that obtains the key results required of the project •    Monitor performance of shift production targets and take appropriate action to maintain production requirements in line with business objectives •    Check equipment required to meet operational targets to ensure correct working order, specifications, quality and requirements What you’ll bring•    Experience in leadership roles managing dynamic teams•    A current WA ‘Class’ Drivers licence•    A current or eligibility to obtain a MSIC•    Appointment as Statutory Supervisor under WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 with the functions as per Schedule 26
