About the Role

We are enthusiastically seeking a talented Operations Supervisor to join our team in an exciting leadership role mentoring a team of field technicians in Geoscience. Working in a collaborative environment, you will shape and drive improvement through a diverse team and be instrumental in influencing our future business outlook. You will work with our stakeholders at site and across supporting functions

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Ensuring ‘Back to Basics’ and ‘Safe systems of work’ are in place and effective for Geoscience activities in area of responsibility
  • Ensuring safe operations are executed aligning to WHS regulations, including daily workplace inspections.
  • Supervising and developing a team of Field Technicians
  • Shift to Shift delivery of operational activities. Including RC, diamond and hydro drilling, earthworks, geophysical survey, sampling, survey etc.
  • Maintaining routine application of BHP Operating System (BOS) practices and tools to deliver our teams goals through the sustain phase of deployment.

About You

You will have a collaborative approach, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholder groups influencing positive outcomes. Excellent communication skills include a deep understanding of stakeholder needs and an ability to support leadership teams by providing context and insight to facilitate decision-making considering strategic direction. 

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Previous experience as a Technician, Supervisor, Geologist, Operational or Engineering roles
  • Exploration or mining experience preferably with exposure to RC, diamond and hydro drilling (Conventional and Dual Rotary), geophysics, earthworks and field works
  • Exposure to iron ore geology and high grade iron ore mineral deposits.

Location

This role is based at Mulla Mulla camp on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 – 7/7 roster from Perth. You will be working at Area C, South Flank and Yandi mine sites along with surrounding Geoscience projects.
