Our Telfer operation in Australia is now recruiting for the position of Supervisor- Ore Treatment.

Telfer Operations

Located in the Great Sandy Desert in East Pilbara, Western Australia, Telfer is a fly in out fly out operation from Perth which recognises the importance of work-life balance.  We provide comfortable, well-furnished rooms with Foxtel, along with site offers of quality food with healthy options, medical care, sports, and recreation activities.  Families are welcomed several times a year to open days to support our community feel at Telfer. 

The Role

Reporting to the Ore Processing Superintendent, this role will lead the processing team consisting of Process technicians to safe, structured and timely production of Gold at our Telfer mine site. We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join the team on a permanent basis on a 8/6 (days) rotating with a 7/7 (nights) roster.

This role as a people leader in the Ore Processing department will involve a diverse range of accountabilities including setting competent team members work allocation whilst providing feedback, relevant work planning and scheduling and career guidance conversations with reporting team members.

Other Accountabilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring personnel are adequately trained to safely complete work requirements; verifying work instructions are clear
  • Managing workforce to ensure adequate coverage for day to day and leave coverage
  • Implementing and monitoring compliance to the parameters established for the metallurgical operation of the ore processing plant
  •  Reviewing trend analysis and driving short interval control to maintain compliance within parameters required.
  • Creating and coordinating work plans and ensuring resources are managed
  • Participating in site safety initiatives and supporting the NewSafe behaviours in the team
  • Ensuring safety/toolbox meeting are conducted at the appropriate frequency with a focus of continued improvement of the Health and Safety Management System and addressing concerns.
  • Ensuring a team-based culture between employees, departments and contractors
  • Approving gold room access and enforcing security compliance to NML gold security standards

We are searching for an individual who can be a strong leader whilst having a passion for teamwork continuous improvement, open communication, and collaboration. In addition to this, you will also have:

  • Experience in a Gold Processing Plant is highly desired
  • Proven frontline leadership experience within large-scale complex operations
  • Experience with shutdown planning and coordination is desirable
  • High commitment to safety along with excellent decision making and delegation skills
  • Computer literacy and understanding of SAP will be beneficial
  • Current C Class drivers’ licence
