We are currently seeking an experienced leader - Ore Processing (Moly) to join our Ore Processing Team based at Cadia during an exciting period of transformation.

Cadia Operations is located in Central Western New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional township of Orange and a convenient three hours from the capital city of Sydney. Employees reside in varied accommodation options in and around the district of Orange with the surrounding area’s occupied by winery’s, stone fruit orchards, farming and national parks.

Who are we looking for

The Supervisor, Ore Processing (Moly) is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and operation of Australia’s first and only Molybdenum processing plant (moly bulk concentrate storage, moly flotation, moly reagents deliveries and handling, moly filtration and bagging and moly utilities).

Working collaboratively across multiple stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, maintaining the compliance and execution of daily tasks, isolations & shutdown schedules. Reporting to the Ore Processing Manager – Final Product, you will ensure the Moly Processing Plant is operating safely, effectively and meeting agreed production and recovery targets at below budget cost.

With 6 direct reports and multiple contractors reporting to you, you will:

  • Demonstrate, support, and encourage alignment with Newcrest values and policies. You’ll also ensure compliance with safety and environmental management systems, policies and procedures
  • Imbed a dedicated culture of safety and Respect at Work into new teams; via an approach of inclusive leadership and collaboration
  • Ensure operation of the processing equipment occurs within the process parameters and control limits in accordance with documented safe work procedures
  • Actively contribute to process improvements to ensure ongoing, practical improvements in safe work practices and operator training.
  • Manage the shift activities of the Process Technicians, including the assignment of duties/responsibilities, isolations and permits. Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling & delivery (including shutdowns and minor projects)
  • Report, investigate and contribute to mitigating actions for all incidents and hazards identified
  • Compile daily reports on overall production and recovery targets while troubleshooting and actioning any variance outside of parameters or target

Through excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach, you will coach, mentor, and guide your team, and work seamlessly with various stakeholders to achieve the required safety, environmental, operational and commercial outcomes.

In addition, you will be required to have:

  • Previous supervisor / leading hand experience in a similar process plant
  • A minimum of 5yrs experience within a Concentrator, flotation plant experience highly preferred
  • Ability to promote a safe, positive, inclusive work culture
  • Knowledge of processing plant environment/process from a hard rock mining background
  • High-level computer skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Motivated and organised, with great communication skills

This will be permanent role with a roster of 7 days on, 7 days off (dayshift only, 12 hour shifts)
