Supervisor - Permits and Gold Room

The Role

We are seeking an Gold Room and Permits Supervisor to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of the Gold room and Permit system whilst supporting timely and secure dore handling and facilitate smooth operations through pre-planning and safe permitting for plant shutdowns and maintenance.

Roster: FIFO 8/6 FIFO Roster

Site: Telfer Operations, Gold and Copper mine located in the Great Sandy Desert in WA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pre-planning, safe and efficient delivery of Isolation and Permitting for all of our Scheduled Plant Shutdowns including Crushing, Milling and Total Plant Outages.
• Demonstrate technical and conceptual excellence in anticipating problems and guiding the teams to deliver whilst setting priorities and allocating work to competent personnel.
• Demonstrate leadership with the highest professional and ethical standards ensuring all actions are transparent and in accordance with Company policy.
• Provide supervision, guidance and operational direction; drive behaviours, standards and frameworks to align with Telfer/Newmont culture and values
• Supporting and investigating when work is stopped due to an unsafe act or condition, ensuring actions to mitigate the risk are implemented
• Ensuring standard work procedures and safe systems of work are understood; enforcing compliance
• Ensuring personnel are adequately trained to safely complete work requirements; verifying work instructions are clear
• Ensuring all partners, vendors, external parties can operate safely and are fully aware of both industry, company and site safety processes and procedure
• Contributing to budgets, forecasts, and schedules

About You

The ideal candidate is a proactive and experienced leader with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence. This individual is skilled in managing complex processes and a deep understanding of Gold Room operations and permit systems. Other key requirements include:

• Proven experience in a similar supervisory role within ore processing or a related field, ideally in a mining or heavy industrial environment. Familiarity with gold room operations and permit management is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of operational processes, including isolation and permitting procedures with ability to read and interpret P and ID’s for plant shutdowns.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including production superintendents, maintenance teams, contractors, and suppliers.
• IntelliPermit exposure
• SAP exposure
• C Class Manual Licence
• Full Working rights in Australia
