About the Role
Perth City Square is home to BHP Iron Ore’s state-of-the-art Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC). Our Control Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using advanced, real-time technology to enable visibility and control, across the entire Iron Ore supply chain. As a technology enabled centre of excellence, IROC employees work collaboratively with site on a shift-to-shift basis to make faster decisions improving safety and optimising value across the supply chain. Within IROC, you will work with passionate, innovative and results motivated people who bring the best of themselves to what they do. Coming from diverse backgrounds, they embrace new ways of working and benefit from comprehensive training to prepare them for their roles.
Reporting to the Superintendent Fixed Plant Control, you will play an integral role by:
• Provide team member motivation and growth through regular interactions, informal reviews and performance appraisals. Utilise appropriate performance management tools when and where required • Develop and action training and development plans for team members • Build a culture of trust and care within your team • Monitor and assess the performance of sites against the daily plans, and working with site teams to address gaps / shortfalls • Conduct regular engagements with Site Stakeholders to build relationships and improve cross team collaboration – Mining, Processing and Maintenance • Ensure all incidents, near misses or hazards are reported and investigated to ensure compliance with the WAIO incident reporting guidelines • Utilise established Field Leadership systems to recognise and control at risk behaviours and situations • Manage and promote safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors • Experience with project management and / or project delivery.
About You
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following: • Education to Year 12, or other education • A passion for managing, developing teams and enhancing team culture • Experience with continuous improvement and/or project delivery • Demonstrated experience in safety and risk mitigation (Take Time Talks, Planned Task Observations and Risk Assessments) • Front Line Management or similar training – advantageous • Experience with processing plant operations or processing plant control - desirable • The ability to work on a Sportspersons Roster (mix of days and nights) • In order to adhere to IROC’s Fatigue Management Policy you will need to live within a 45 minute commute from City Square.
