Location

Cannington is one of the world's largest and lowest-cost producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometers west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Port & Logistics, you will be responsible for leading a team of Operator/Maintainers to safely execute all operations activities including unloading of trains, loading of vessels and site environmental responsibilities (including dust and water management).

The role is being offered on a permanent basis, on an 5/2 roster (with occasional shift work) based in Townsville, QLD.

Some of the accountabilities include:

  • Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with Health and Safety Management System and statutory requirements
  • Manage concentrate movements in compliance with all safety, health, and environment expectations
  • Manage the site’s water treatment and management system
  • Contractor management
  • Supervise maintenance activities
  • Logistics coordination to ensure efficient movement of concentrate from Mine to Port

About you

The ideal candidate will need to have the following:

  • Trade Qualification and / or relevant tertiary qualification (Preferred)
  • Experience in Port & Logistics operations 
  • Experience using Citect, Global 360, 1SAP work management system
  • Risk and Safety Management experience
  • Experience in delivering safe, cost-effective work outcomes
  • Experience in Work Management Processes
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • C class Driver’s License
  • S123 / G1,8,9
